HO HO 5K
I was excited to do a Holiday run this year. Last year my coworkers and I talked about doing the Jingle Bell run in downtown Portland but that never panned out. Here it is another year and I was signed up for the HO HO 5k put on by X-Dog Events. I ended up running alone this year but my amazing husband got up with me to drive out to Tigard and find the race location at Cook Park. There were a few sprinkles on the way out but the weather held up for the race. I brought two coats and some can goods to donate as they were taking a collection. They collected 10,000 lbs of food!
We were greeted by Santa just before they started the race as well as after the first mile. (There was a Santa running too, so he must have been every where!) Chris had tuned up the iPod for me since I was running alone which kept me going for all of 32 minutes was my official race time. Not bad for a 5K by myself! The course had a little bit of everything as far as scenery for the race park. Through the neighborhood, over the river trail and through the park woods we went all to find our loved ones waiting for us. Some treats and hot drinks topped off the morning and a successful December run.
Woot woot!
